Zimperium zLabs has discovered a flaw in the android operating system that allows the device to be compromised simply by sending it malware infected media via MMS

Users don’t necessarily need to open the message for the code to run either, which is one of the worst parts of this vulnerability. The researchers also say that the code can also be executed multiple times for example when the users tilts the screen, opens the message again, etc.

Unfortunately, a wide range of devices are affected as it’s been found in all operating system versions from Android 2.2 upwards. Users are advised to check with their device manufacturer for updates for this.
